JERE is published quarterly in January, April, July and October.

Educational Research

The journal publishes research findings, results and educational experiments.

Extension & Practice

It also highlights extension work, reviews books and publishes articles of practical interest to teachers.

Peer Review and Publication Policy

Peer review is the system used to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Independent researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance.

When a manuscript is submitted, it is assessed to see whether it meets the criteria for submission. If it does, the editorial team selects potential peer reviewers within the relevant research field.

All submitted manuscripts are reviewed by the editors and only those meeting the aims and scope of the journal are sent for outside review.

Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two referees.

When necessary, editors may seek assistance from additional expert reviewers to reach a final fair decision. At the end of the review process, accepted papers are published in the journal.

Ethical Policy

Authors must be honest in presenting their results and conclusions of their research. Research misconduct is harmful to knowledge and could mislead other researchers.

Fabrication, falsification or selective reporting of data with the intent to mislead or deceive is unethical, as is the theft of data or research results from others.

The results of research should be recorded and maintained to allow for analysis and review.

Data should be retained and made available upon request for a reasonable period for analysis or review.

Peer Review

  • Simultaneous submissions of the same manuscript to different journals will not be accepted.
  • Manuscripts with contents outside the scope of the Journal will not be considered for review.
  • Papers will be refereed by at least two experts as suggested by the editorial board.
  • Additional expert reviewers may be consulted where necessary.
  • All publication decisions are made by the Journal’s Chief Editor on the basis of the reviewers’ reports.
  • Authors of papers that are not accepted are notified promptly.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism is considered academic dishonesty and a breach of ethics.

Any information used without citing the original source will be considered as plagiarism.

Reproducing text from other papers without properly crediting the source, or producing many papers with almost the same content by the same authors, is not acceptable.

Submitting the same results to more than one journal concurrently is unethical, except where the work is a review article.

Authors should acknowledge the work of others and cite publications that have influenced their study.

All manuscripts submitted will be checked for plagiarism and self-plagiarism.
