Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Education (Autonomous) is a premier Higher Educational Institution with the glorious history of offering Teacher Education Programmes based on the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi.
Having been recognized as the First Autonomous College of Education in India and with the richest glory of 74 years of existence, the College strives for excellence in promoting dedicated and humane teaching blended with the rich heritage of our Nation and recent techniques.
Believing the principles of Swamiji that “the highest manifestation of strength is to keep ourselves calm and on our own feet” , the College of Education aims at man-making and character-building education besides providing techno-pedagogic skills of contemporary high-tech world.
The vibrant initiatives such as blending Indian Knowledge System, Dissemination through modern techniques, Need based Researches and Value-based Inclusive Education in transforming trainees into teachers are stepping stones of the College.
Enriched with outreach activities, trainees are involved in serving immediate community and gain insights on social responsibilities.
In-service training, Youth Conventions, Literary and Cultural Competitions and other events organized by the College are testimony to ensure the efforts to Quality Teacher Education and imbibing values from rich heritage of India.
The college also publishes a quarterly journal namely Journal of Education Research and Extension with scholarly articles from across the country since 1964.
The trainees of the college, I am sure, live up to the expectations of great philosophers, in serving the community, and will carry forward the qualities wherever they go and whatever responsibilities they hold in future.
